Standard Crush
Holds the animal's head through a headbail. The body isn't restrained. Fine for the bulk of routine jobs: tagging, drenching, pour-on, basic checks.

Premium Crush
Same headbail-only restraint, built heavier. Better headbail mechanism, better access, better sightlines from where you're working. Worth it once you're handling cattle often, or running a mob that doesn't stand still easily.

Premium Squeeze Crush
Adds side panels that close in on the animal's body for full restraint, not just the head. The right call when a procedure genuinely needs the animal still, not just contained.
What Is The Crush
Matching the crush to what you actually do
Think about your handling days, not your ideal yard.
- A standard crush suits a smaller herd, handled a few times a year, doing straightforward jobs. Sensible if you're setting up a first property and expect to upgrade later.
- A premium crush earns its keep once you're in the yard monthly or more, especially working solo. The extra build quality shows up in fewer stuck headbails and less fighting at every session.
- A premium squeeze crush is for specific procedures, not a default upgrade. Pregnancy testing, ultrasound work, anything where your vet needs the animal completely still.
Features worth Knowing before you buy
Headbail
The part you touch every single time. It needs to open and close cleanly, and if you work alone, a reliable auto-catch matters more than almost any other feature.
Access
Can you reach the animal from both sides? Is there rear access for jobs that need it? This decides what you can actually do with an animal once it's in the crush.
Sightlines
Can you see the race from where you're standing? If you have to step away to see what's happening, your workflow breaks every time.

Common questions
What's the difference between a standard and a premium crush?
Both restrain the animal by the head only, not the body. Premium is built heavier, with a better headbail mechanism and better access, and suits properties handling cattle often.
When do I need a premium squeeze crush instead?
When a procedure needs the animal's whole body still, not just the head. Pregnancy testing and some veterinary work are the usual reasons. If that's not a regular job for you, a premium crush is usually the better buy.
Can I see one before I buy?
Yes. Call your nearest yard or request a quote, and we'll show you what's on the floor.
