Our inventory of general and merchant bar steel includes:
Rectangular hollow section (RHS)
Our Rectangular Hollow Section range offers the standard size of 8m, with sizes on selected styles ranging from 6.5m-12m.
STEEL PIPE (CHS)
Our Pipe range offers the standard length of 6.5m.
MERCHANT bars
Our Merchant Bar variations are offered in the standard length of 6.5m, with the selection of flat, round, deformed or square bars.

HOW TO CALCULATE THE MASS OF MILD STEEL PLATE & FLAT:
Length X Width X Thickness X 7850KG
Example
For a 10mm plate at 2400mm x 1700mm:
2.4 x 1.7 x 0.01 x 7850 = 320.28kg
For a 200 x 6 flat bar at 1200mm:
1.2 x 0.2 x 0.006 x 7850 = 11.304kg
Note: Most price books have an extra 2.5% added onto the weight of merchant bar as a rolling tolerance.
* Add 2 kg per square metre for Floor Plate.
* To calculate the mass of aluminium:
Length x width x thickness x 2710 kg
* To calculate the mass of stainless steel:
Length x width x thickness x 8000 kg

Is your RHS and SHS painted or galvanised?
We stock products in both a black (uncoated) finish, perfect for welding, and a hot-dip galvanised finish for long-term corrosion protection.
Can I buy single lengths?
Absolutely. We cater to everyone from large-scale fabricators to DIY enthusiasts. We have no minimum orders.
What’s the difference between SHS and RHS?
SHS is Square Hollow Section, while RHS is Rectangular Hollow Section. Our team can help you choose the right profile for your project.
Do you have off-cuts for sale?
We often have a range of usable off-cuts available at a discounted price. It’s always worth checking the off-cut bin at our yards.
What if something goes wrong with my order?
If we make a mistake, we fix it. No excuses. Our owner, Darren, personally speaks to dissatisfied customers to ensure issues are resolved at no charge.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes, we carry standard liability insurance to protect our operations and our customers.
